How the WHC Helps Women and Families
The WHC provides wrap around case management services for all clients. Because of the partnerships we have established with various service providers, we can refer our clients to any services that The WHC cannot provide in house. Some examples include:
- Referrals to employment programs and educational programs
- Referrals for mental heath services and substance abuse counseling
- Referrals for individual and family counseling
- Assistance with receiving entitlements
In house, The WHC provides:
- Parenting classes
- Tutoring for all school age children
- Visiting nurses and therapists for the children
- Family reading workshops
- Budgeting and financial independence workshops
- Nutrition workshops
- Educational field trips for the children
- Matched savings program
- Dress for success workshops

Who Qualifies For The WHC Program
To qualify for our program, the following women must meet the following criteria:
- Be referred by a service provider
- Be homeless (last residence must be in Baltimore City)
- Have limited or no income
- Have a disability (by HUD standards either a physical disability, mental health issues, chemical addiction with a minimum of six months sobriety documented by a heath care professional
- Have a commitment to work towards self sufficiency
