Become a Volunteer

The WHC welcomes all types of volunteers.  Whether you have a special skill you’d like to teach our residents to aid in the self-sufficiency, or a corporation that is community-minded, we want you! If you have a project or class idea or a skill you’d like to share, please call  us at 410-235-5782.

Volunteers needed to:

• Teach nutrition classes
• Teach gardening skills
• Create exercise programs
• Teach Resume writing skills
• Cut and style residents’ hair
• Provide tutoring for our children

Create Special a Project or Program

Non-profits and organizations can teach:

• Financial Literacy
• Computer training
• Dressing for Success
• Job Interview Skills

Corporations could:

• Help do complete apartment makeovers
• Help paint and decorate
• Plant gardens
• Create a fundraiser involving all employees such as a "jeans to work day"
