Inside the House | The Women's Housing Coalition

Welcome to “Inside the House”, the Women's Housing Coalition’s blog which chronicles the lives of five women in our program; Laura, Juanita, Malaya, Heather, and Billie.

Though not their real names, these ladies will post every day in some combination (except weekends) until December 31, 2010. You will experience their joy and sadness, successes and failures, happiness and frustration, as they work toward becoming self-sufficient individuals.

As you follow their lives this year, we hope you will gain some insight into the courage and strength that all of our residents must put forth each day to reclaim their lives.

They said the final two on American Idol were just two percentage points apart. What a shame. Lee DeWyze and Crystal Bowersox were both winners to me, but my top choice was Crystal. But Lee won. Perhaps Crystal, like so many second-place finishers, will have a promising career anyway.

My predictions for Dancing with the Stars came true. Derek Hough and Nicole Scherziner showed what champions they are. As predicted, it was a very close finish.

It is so good to be home! Back to my normal routine of cooking, cleaning and doing chores! Being back home is important to me. Oh, I enjoyed being with my family in Florida and I love spending the weekends at my daughters houses, but being back home is a joy!

I guess a lot of folks have been watching “American Idol” and “Dancing with the Stars.” I was sorry to see Big Mike Lynch voted out this week on Idol. My bets for the final three are 1) Crystal Bowersox, 2) Lee DeWyze and 3) Casey James. It’s been a pretty good season. I hope Crystal is the next American Idol.

Well the count down begins. May is here and I have a week and five days to stay here in Florida. I's been great fun seeing the sighhts, being with my family, eating good food.
