Well, its been a great week! I've been visiting the residents here and renewing old friendships. I enjoyed spending time with my friends! We had a lot talk about!
Now that I'm home and settled, I need to review my personal goals and set new ones. I need to pay more attention to my health and take better care of myself. I do keep all of my doctors appointments and take all my medications on time, but I know that I need to do more. I need to stop smoking.
Smoking has been a habit and an addiction for me for more then 25 years. I've stopped 4 or 5 times, but I always start up again. I even stopped for 24 weeks. I've taken medication, had the support of my family and friends, nothing seem to work.
The first thing I noticed when I came home from Florida was the smell in my room. It made me sick and ashamed when a non-smoking friend helped me to my room with my bags. Even after being away for a month, my room still smelled of old cigarettes. As I lit up a cigarette, I realized I needed to do something about the smell in my room. I need to stop smoking! As I am writing this blog I am smoking. I really need to stop and stop now!
So, I'll set a new personal goal. I'll talk with my case manager to get her help and support. I'll talk to my family and friends and ask them to help. It will be hard, but I'll it give all I've got!
I'll set a date to guit and take one day at a time. Maybe I can do it! Wish me luck! I'll see you next week!
