It is so good to be home! Back to my normal routine of cooking, cleaning and doing chores! Being back home is important to me. Oh, I enjoyed being with my family in Florida and I love spending the weekends at my daughters houses, but being back home is a joy!
When you've been homeless, it's a big deal to be able to put your feet under your own table. Sleep in your own bed and eat your own food. I take great pride and joy in cleaning my own bathroom, making my bed, doing chores, and all the little things that make my living environment a real home.
I've been thinking this week about how I lived before I came to WHC. Living with friends and family. Sleeping in chairs and in my car. Living in an apartment that had no heat, water or toilet. What a nightmare! I can't imagine going back to that.
