Inside the House

Billie - February 26, 2010

I had nothing to write about this week untilI talked to my "Baby Girl".  Let me tell you about her.  She is a fellow resident whom I have spoiled rotten.  She calls me "Mama" and I love her to death.  I count her as one of my children and she has established a relationship with my oldest daughter and my grandchildren.  How lucky can I get to have such a friend.

Baby Girl was sick this week so I had a chance to pamper her, worry about her, fix her meals, and kiss and hug her.  I was honored to be of service to her.

One day I asked if she wanted some fried chicken legs.  She said I don't like chicken legs.  I like breast.  So I went out and brought her some breast.  Before I fried them, I asked if she would be home.  She said yes, she would be home that night.  I can still hear her as she came in.  "Mama, Ma  I can smell chicken in the hall way".  This was after 10:00 pm, and she knows I go to bed early, but she wanted her breast.  She laughed as she got them from the microwave.  Saying she was sorry for waking me up.  I didn't mind.  She is my daughter.

It is so nice to have someone so close around me.  Her smile and laughter is contagious.  She makes me feel like a real mother here in this house.

Of course this is not a one sided relationship.  She helps me with my depression when I am down and blue.  She always gives me a shoulder to lean on and she gives great hugs.

God has given me four great children and I am proud to say "Baby Girl" is one of them.
